An Evening at Derwent Water.
A beautiful evening in the Lake District watching the sun go down on Derwent Water. Not surprisingly there where quiet a few people lakeside including several photographers arriving with their tripods. As you can see it was great light and there where lovely soft pastel tones in the sky, both Vic and I got some nice images. The strange thing was that when I looked round just as the light was becoming really good all the photographers had gone along with their tripods.

Bodnant in September
Pin Mill at the beautiful Bodnant Garden in North Wales in September. We decided we where overdue a trip to Bodnant although we didn't know how good the gardens would be since we had had such a miserable summer. What a surprise, as you can see from the picture it was beautiful day and so many flowers still in full splendor. It must be one of the best gardens in the UK.

Puffin Island (Anglesey).
A day trip to Anglesey and a view of Puffin Island and the Trwyn Du Lighthouse seen from Penmon Point. The Puffins
from which the island gets its modern English name bred in considerable
numbers at one time, with up to 2,000 pairs recorded. The Rat was introduced accidentally to the island, probably in the late 19th
century, and reduced this population to a very few pairs. A program of
poisoning these rats started in 1998 appears to have eradicated them, and the Puffin population has shown an increase since that date.
